This is a 1931 Straits Settlement, King George V, 1 dollar circulated banknote. This is a piece of printing art. Why ... imagine back in 1931 when camera and sophisticated printing technology did not exist. Highly skilled crafstmen were hired to produce intricate and very fine metal moulds just to make banknotes. The value was not on the face of the note but in the processes and end products, instead. So, any taker for this beauty at RM3,888?

It all started from an idea. An article about my hobby in banknotes collection was published in The STAR daily in 2006. Since then, banknote collectors from as far as Perlis and Sarawak contacted me and we became friends. My circle of friends was expanding until Mohammad Jamal (in red) suggested that we form a society. We set our first meeting in August 2007 in Kelana Jaya and the rest was history.

my most favourite collection is 30 pieces of Ringgit Malaysia 2 uncut banknotes
